EA's The Battle for Middle-earth II to be Released on XBox 360

Electronic arts has announced that the PC real-time strategy game Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II will be built for the Xbox 360 and released this summer.

EA is promising that the game will use a new console-specific control scheme that will "allow novice players to enjoy the game's signature strategy gameplay while giving expert players the flexibility needed to engage in a deeply complex strategy experience." We'll see if this plays out... RTS games on consoles have been a tough sell.

The game will also have multiplayer support via Xbox live.
