Behold the tense scene from the Two Towers, when Pippin tries to steal the Palantir from the sleeping Gandalf! Or... perhaps something else is going on here?

As cellphones are a rare luxery in Middle Earth (in fact only 7 was ever made) Pippin at last abandon all moral principals and steals Gandalfs. Although it is heavy, does not fit in your pocket and is risky to use it is very priced among all people.
