Narrator: Just before the battle of Helm's Deep, the men, woman, and children of Rohan gathered in the glittering caves beneath the Deep. On a far end, Theoden King strode forward and looked out over his people.
Theoden: Tonight, let us honor these men and women. These are our soldiers, our warriors. These are our husbands and wives, our brothers and sisters, our children. Let us remember those that have been lost. And let us give thanks for those that have been found and who stand here beside us. Now I would like someone else to close this prayer. Someone who hasn't spoken here in a long time, but who I believe has something to say that we all need to hear. I give you Eomer.
Crowd: *goes crazy*
Eomer: Rohan! Hear me! It is true, what many of you have heard. The Uruk-hai have gathered an army, and as I speak that army is drawing nearer to our home.
Crowd: *whispers excitedly*
Eomer: Believe me when I say we have a difficult time ahead of us. But if we are to be prepared for it, we must first shed our fear of it! I stand here before you now, truthfully unafraid. Why? Because I believe something you do not? No! I stand here without fear because I remember. I remember that I am here not because of the path that lies before me, but because of the path that lies behind me! I remember that for hundreds years we have fought these Orcs. I remember that for hundreds of years they have send their armies to destroy us. And after centuries of war, I remember that which matters most. We are still here!
Crowd: *goes nuts*
Eomer: TONIGHT let us send a message to that army! Tonight let us shake this cave! Tonight let us tremble these halls of earth, and stone! Let us be heard from wrecked earth to black sky. Tonight, let us make them remember. This is Rohan! AND WE ARE NOT AFRAID!
Crowd: *thunderous cheers and applause*
Eomer: *waves to the crowd and heads back to applauding Theoden, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Eowyn*

  1. Nice speech. It reminds me a lot of The Matrix Reloaded.

  2. I haven't seen The Matrix Reloaded. GGGRRRRR!!!!
Anyways, I like it. I can see Eomer saying it! Although I don't exactly know why you're writing it. is there a point to it, or did you just feel like writing something about him?

  8. Eomer's a good speech giver. Much better than his uncle, anyway.

  9. I guess the main creative thought was in linking Morpheus' speech to Eomer, not in actually writing it, but for thinking of this I give you a big fat 5. (And for making me laugh. )

  11. That was hilarious!! And cute! (My reaction may stem from the fact that I was flipping through TV today and saw Karl on Xena and he was sooooooo cute! ) Also, I couldn't remember this was from the Matrix, but it was cool just the same!
